The 60th annual Primetime Emmy Awards are still a month away, but four winners were announced today in what the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences calls juried categories, for which there are no nominations, simply recognition of excellence.

Keith David, narrator of PBS' documentary series "The War," was awarded the Emmy for voice-over performance. He was honored in the same category in 2005 for the PBS documentary "Unforgivable Blackness: The Rise and Fall of Jack Johnson."

Costume designer Shanna Knecht and costume supervisor Elizabeth Tagg won for outstanding costumes for a variety/music program or a special, for their work on TBS' late-night series "Frank TV."

Emmys for individual achievement in animation were given to Ben Balistreri, a character designer on Cartoon Network's "Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends," and Teresa Drilling, an animator on CBS' "Creature Comforts America."

They'll receive their statuettes at the Creative Arts Awards on Sept. 13.
